About
I studied computer science at the University of Bonn and received my Ph.D. (summa cum laude) from the University of Bremen in 2012 with the dissertation New Geometric Data Structures for Collision Detection, later published as a Springer monograph in the Series on Touch and Haptic Systems. The thesis received the EuroHaptics Ph.D. Award 2013.
Since 2005 I have been working with Prof. Gabriel Zachmann, first at Clausthal University of Technology and since 2012 at the Computer Graphics and Virtual Reality Research Lab (CGVR) in Bremen. Besides research I teach courses in computer graphics, virtual reality and physically-based simulation, supervise theses, and co-develop simulators together with partners in medicine, aerospace and industry.
